Successful cinema trip for person we support lands duo Employee of the Month AwardIf you didn’t guess already, we love hearing about all the wonderful things the people we support get up to.
Whether it’s being able to venture into the wider community for the first time in seven years or go on holiday with family with our support workers right by their side.
In good company
It’s one of the reasons why we relaunched our Employee of the Month Scheme. Along with putting more ‘good’ into the world, it also gives us a chance to recognise and champion our hard-working team who go the extra mile to help our clients who have complex needs.
Winning the award for our October Employee of the Month Award is Madge Stephenson and Fatoumata Barry. Madge and Fatoumata were nominated by their manager Clara Burfutt after they supported one of the people who we support to go to the cinema for the very first time.
Nominating them, Clara said: “I believe this to be a great achievement for someone who all their life was left in a room at the day centre. Thanks to their support workers’ help they have now managed to go to the cinema and sit through the whole movie.”
Long may this continue!
Of course, this is all possible thanks to the caring and enthusiastic qualified support workers Madge and Fatoumata who used their training to help provide person centred care.
But we couldn’t not mention our in-house Clinical Team, who day in, day out put in place care plans that help people move from Assessment and Treatment centres, where their lives may have been extremely regimented, to living behind their own front door.
