We do like to be beside the sea side! Duo win August Employee of the Month
At Frontier Support we believe everybody deserves the opportunity to live their life to the full, and it’s our job to help make that happen, however big the challenge.
Two people who went to great lengths to make sure this rang true was support workers Earle Hudson and Alex Barriffe, who have jointly been awarded the August Employee of the Month Award.
Clients are put first
We recognise that the people we support psychological needs are just as important as their physical ones. And that it’s vital to see beyond the diagnosis. Specifically, to get to know the people we support and what makes them special. We help them to find their passions and try to put them in the driving seat of their own life by providing person centred care.
Which is why, this summer, Earle and Alex supported Client X on a trip to the beachy town of Eastbourne on the coast. Client X wanted to visit the sea but has not previously been on a trip without displaying behaviors that challenge.
We do like to be beside the seaside
But with the support of Earle and Alex, Client X coped really well in the crowds and had a great day visiting the beach, having some food and enjoying the last of the summer sun.
“This is the first trip where Client X has been on a trip without displaying bahviours that challenge,” Tony Piercy, Frontier Support’s CEO says.
“Society often has low expectations of people with learning disabilities or challenging needs. But rather than carry out tasks for them, or abandoning days out or hobbies, we work with the people we support to help them learn new skills and put them in the driving seat of their own life by providing person centred care,” Tony adds. “So it’s a big well done to Earle and Alex who made sure Client X could still enjoy what he loves doing while making some great memories too.”

Here at Frontier Support, we want to shine a spotlight on all the brilliant work our colleagues do. Which is why, we re-launched our Employee of the Month Awards in March this year to shout about all the wonderful work our colleagues do and hear how it makes a tangible difference to the people we support.
Each month we encourage our colleagues to nominate a fellow worker who has gone above and beyond in their role. This year’s awards will come to a close in September and in October we’ll be hosting our annual awards which will name the overall Employee of the Year. So watch this space.
