Valentine’s Day 2020 – Love actually is all around
Valentine’s Day 2020 – Love actually is all aroundAs Valentine’s Day approaches, Richard and Teresa, two people we support at Frontier and who have found love together, have been kind enough to let us share their story.
Richard and Teresa met many years ago at the Rathbone Club in Wandsworth; an organisation that supports people with learning disabilities and young people. They became friends and stayed that way for many years before becoming a couple and moving in together in Putney, where they are supported by Frontier.
Richard went down on one knee when he proposed to Teresa. He told us that he knew he wanted to spend the rest of his life with her.
They married in June 2011 at Wandsworth Registry Office. Teresa was in a white suit with a lovely bouquet of white flowers and Richard looked smart in a black blazer with a red carnation. After the ceremony they celebrated with friends and family at a reception party in Balham.
Nearly nine years on they are still blissfully happy together. We asked them what they liked most about each other:
“Richard treats me better than anyone else ever has,” said Teresa. “He’s caring, lovely and he doesn’t cheat!”
While Richard told us: “I love Teresa to bits. She makes me very happy and I’m so glad I met her”
This Valentine’s day they plan to spend the evening together at home exchanging gifts and enjoying some cake!
