Matthew’s New Home

Matthew’s New Home
Published: 20 December 2016

This is Matthew who we recently helped move from shared accommodation to his own flat in Croydon.

Previously Matthew, who has Down’s Syndrome and learning disabilities, shared a property with three others and the care he received was pooled between the four of them. Matthew found it very difficult to cope when he saw his housemates receiving attention from the support team and his behaviour became extremely challenging. Luckily the Frontier team was on hand to recognise this, review his needs, make recommendations for improvements to his care plan. We were then able to work with Matthew to help manage the transition to his new home.

Since the move, Matthew is much happier. Having one to one support means he feels so much happier and more comfortable. And since his needs are being met there have been no incidences of challenging behaviour. Matthew is also taking full advantage of the extra support by getting out and about much more and involved in local activities.

This is great news for Matthew and the Frontier team. We love what we do and our aim is to help the people we support to live active and socially inclusive lives incorporating supported employment, life skills and a range of leisure activities from sewing to sky diving. We are experts in care and support for vulnerable adults. We are registered with and regulated by the Care and Quality Commission (CQC) and were last inspected in 2016 when we were rated as Good.
