FRONTIER HOSTS EUROPEAN CONFERENCE
FRONTIER HOSTS EUROPEAN CONFERENCEWe were delighted to work in partnership with Outside In Pathways to play host to the Sharing European Knowledge on Autism (SEKA) conference in Croydon in May 2016. SEKA comprises organisations from Austria, Northern Ireland, Romania, Turkey and the United Kingdom. Each organisation shares their knowledge and expertise in Autism.
The SEKA project aims to help families to better understand their children and autism. The two-year study will involve interviews with over 100 families in the five member regions. These interviews will be analysed by experts and the results will be presented at an international conference in Turkey in 2017.
The information gathered will be used to create training courses and resources for parents of children with Autism and these will cover issues such as education, health, social rights and entitlements, legal rights, and psychosocial support.
SEKA will publish materials and resources in four languages across the European member states and the findings will be used by educators, healthcare professionals, policymakers and families.
The Croydon conference was a lively and productive event and we look forward to the next conference which will be hosted by our colleagues in Northern Ireland.
