Soaking up the sunshine: 2025 was a summer to remember at Frontier Support

Soaking up the sunshine: 2025 was a summer to remember at Frontier Support
Published: 17 September 2025

While British summers are usually known for being as reliable as a chocolate teapot, this year the sun decided to stick around — so we made every golden ray count!

Summer might be a season, but here at Frontier Support it’s an opportunity to bring people together, celebrate achievements, and create joyful memories with the people we support.

And this year was no exception.

The Summer Ball – dancing shoes, glitter and laughter

If you heard laughter echoing across the South East one evening, that was probably us at our Summer Ball.

Held on July 16th, it was an evening of pure sparkle and celebration, where everyone brought their best dance moves (and some brought moves we’re still trying to name).

The people we support dressed to impress, and so did our team. But our summer ball was more than just a party and a good excuse to get dressed up.

In short, our summer ball was all about injecting some confidence, enjoying connections, and reminding everyone how valued they are.

The Garden Event – sunshine, strawberries and slightly competitive quizzes

Our Garden Event was a gentle summer’s day wrapped in bunting and laughter.

We set up colourful gazebos, picnic blankets, and games across our gardens, transforming them into a festival of fun.

There were homemade cakes, strawberries that disappeared faster than we could plate them, and a quiz that brought out everyone’s inner trivia champion (we now know who can name all the ABBA songs in alphabetical order — a useful party trick, if ever there was one).

These moments reminded us how powerful simple pleasures can be. A sunny garden, a shared slice of cake, and the sense of community can go a long way in supporting wellbeing and belonging.

Taking to the skies – The Eastbourne Airshow

For a group of thrill-seekers we support, the summer reached new heights (quite literally!).

We organised a coach trip and headed to the coast for the spectacular Eastbourne Airshow, and it did not disappoint.

Aerobatic displays looped and rolled through the skies while we picnicked on the beach and collected enough seagull stories to last the rest of the year.

It was a day full of wide eyes, shared awe, and occasional squeals of delight. (From the planes, not us. Probably.)

Everyday adventures – little journeys, big smiles

Alongside the big events, our summer was also sprinkled with smaller, personal outings tailored to individual interests.

Some people we support explored local nature reserves, others hit the cinema, while a few enjoyed quiet moments in cosy cafés.

These individual adventures may not make headlines, but they mean the world, as they foster independence, confidence, and joyful memories that last well beyond the sunshine.

Waving goodbye to summer

So, as you can see, this summer was packed full of events — all of which were a celebration of the vibrant lives of the people we support and the dedication of our team.

From dance floors to air displays and sunlit gardens to seaside picnics, we made sure to squeeze every last drop of joy out of the season.

Rolling into autumn

But now, as the days get shorter and the leaves turn brown, we’re already buzzing with ideas for the autumn months ahead.

There’s something magical about this time of year — the crisp air, the promise of warm drinks, and the sights of pumpkin here, there and everywhere.

We’re planning creative indoor activities, seasonal outings, and of course, our much-anticipated Halloween celebrations, where costumes, carved pumpkins and a touch of spooky mischief are all firmly on the agenda.

If summer was all about sunshine and sparkle, autumn will be about comfort, creativity, and maybe the odd cobweb (artificial ones… mostly). And we can’t wait to share it all!
